DIY Holiday Plates

My mind has been on holiday decor lately and recently I pinned this tutorial. It is so simple and the possibilities are endless. Just in time for Thanksgiving, I have a great idea for your holiday meals.

I followed this tutorial, but instead used these great plates I found at the dollar store. They are the perfect price at $1 each and even have a decorative gold edge. Go get some! I also used a medium point gold paint Sharpie.

I chose my words: Give, Thanks, Receive, Joy, Love, Hope, Faith, and Light. I practiced on scratch paper a few times and then tried sketching with a soft pencil on each plate as a rough guide.

Then I just went for it. I found that I could wipe off mistakes very carefully with a wet cloth, but it was definitely better to just get it right the first time. Then I stuck them in the oven as directed and that’s it! I love how they turned out! They will be the perfect addition to our Thanksgiving and Christmas tables!!

  5. Such a great idea! I have a feeling my writing would look nowhere near as good but I may well give it a try as I've already decided I'm doing something similar on mugs to give as gifts this year :) Hx
