Simple Accessories for Summer
It's warming up here in Missouri, and that means I'm reaching for low-fuss accessories and outfits. When it's hot I seriously struggle to get dressed in anything that isn't a graphic tee and my Birks. Having the store open now has helped push me to get ready when I otherwise wouldn't, but even at the store, I'm wearing a Nickel & Suede tee—just with wedges rather than sneaks!
This outfit is from a few weeks back (when it wasn't so dang humid!), but my accessory game and outfit strategy have stayed the same. N&S earrings, my Jord wood watch, and a simple tote plus an easy tee and denim. It's no secret that I love our N&S earrings because they are so lightweight and you literally forget you have them on. My wood watch is the same way. It's lightweight, unique, and functional. I have one in a lighter wood and one in a darker wood, and they both go with everything. This outfit equation fits every part of my life this Summer- working at the store, heading to the park with my kids or just staying home to do laundry.
And speaking of summer clothes, I'm currently on the hunt to find bermuda shorts that I like and when I do, I'll be sure to report back. After this last pregnancy, my varicose veins didn't exactly go away so I'm not loving my legs in shorts, but it's summer in Missouri—so shorts are necessary. Next week I'm planning on a roundup of all my favorite basics that are getting me through the summer, so let me know if there are any wardrobe pieces you want recommendations for. And let me tell you, I've gone through a LOT of online ordering and returning to decide on the things I kept.
