OLM Anniversary Sale- Dressing Room Try-On's and First Faves

Happy Thursday! What a week it has been! This is literally my favorite shopping time of the year and it's been a blast preparing this content for you. Not only does the Anniversary Sale begin, but Nickel & Suede is launching new Fall-ish products tomorrow too! It doesn't get better than this!
For the first time ever Nordy Club Icons and Ambassadors can all pre-shop online today, July 11th. All other Nordstrom cardholders can start shopping tomorrow. If you don't have a card you can still apply or you can start shopping on 7.19.2019.  I was able to go to the store on Tuesday and shop early-access to try on all the things. I'd thought I'd get out my first faves from the sale so you can start making your shopping list now! This post has a lot of the items I tried on, loved and purchased yesterday. I plan to style these items more soon, but here is a quick look at all of my first faves! At the bottom I've included a full list of everything I purchased so far to either keep or to try. Hopefully you can get what you want before it sells out!


This year I feel like the shoes, the jeans, and the jackets/blazers were strong. There weren't as many tops I loved this year, but there were some GREAT basics that I'll share below. I definitely focused even more on quality. I tried on a lot of items and kicked out a lot of them too. I will likely be sharing mostly middle to middle-high priced items because those are the items that are usually ridiculously high priced. This is the sale to snag a great pair of investment jeans, shoes you'll wear all season or a new handbag. I think you can buy a cheap tee or a sweater any time, but life changing denim? Only this sale. So- if I recommend it, it's been vetted! I can't wait to share! Onto the shoes!

Madewell Remi Genuine Calf Hair Mule

These were my favorite flat of the sale. Great for work or with jeans. These mules are so comfortable. They fit tts and have a padded foot bed. They are at a great $54 price point. They also come in a true black and English saddle color. BOUGHT. 


 Vince Camuto Gigietta Bootie
Color: Tortilla Suede

This is my favorite basic boot from the sale. This year there are a lot of pointed toe booties and these are still approachable. I love the pointed toe on these booties and the slit in the shaft. Wearing size 8.5 so they fit tts. These also come in a variety of colors. I loved the style so much I also purchased the natural embossed leather color below. Definitely great everyday Fall booties - especially in this color. BOUGHT.

These were my favorite snakeskin boot this year. There were actually a lot of snakeskin boots to choose from, but these made my cart. BOUGHT.


BP Heath Bootie
Color: Cognac Suede

This was the most affordable basic boot from the sale. Easy to wear and a great price. These are such a classic boot and will be your go-to color for Fall. Fit tts if you wear socks with them. I didn't buy these, but only because I bought the Vince ones above.


Sam Edelman Welles Bootie
Color: Black Suede

I'm usually not a big fan of black booties, I just never gravitate towards them, but I tried these on and fell in love. It has a low heel and very comfortable. The emblem detail on the side makes it look a lot more expensive than what they really are. A staple black bootie that fits tts. BOUGHT.


BP. Trice Peep Toe Bootie
Color: Black Faux Suede

This boot is definitely one you can wear now and into Fall. I couldn't decide between this color or the blush color (which I think will sell out fast). The sock detail is actually really comfortable because there is no rubbing happening around the ankle. Fit tts and are only $59. 


 Treasure & Bond Fern Bootie
Color: Natural Snake Faux Leather

These were another snakeskin boot I tried on. These are comfortable and fit tts- shaft may be a little too high for me but the heel feels good to walk in.


Jeffrey Campbell Raven (Python)
Color: Snake Print Faux Leather

These were another style of snakeskin boots I tried on. I love all of my previous Jeffrey Campbell booties. They do run big so I sized down a whole size. They have a snug shaft and a pointed toe. Super chic. 

Steve Madden Rockstar Bootie
Color: Natural Snake Print Leather

This shoe is so cute! I'm loving the side slit trend in many of the boots this year. This snake print color is a good light neutral pattern that is not super strong so you can wear a lot with it. Cute stud detail for edginess. If you're looking for a snake print bootie during the sale this one is a little muted and a really approachable shape.


 Vince Camuto Corlina Ankle Strap Sandal
Color: Rose/Silver Fabric

I've been looking for this color of  heel for awhile now. I love the rose/silver champagne color that will pair great with silver or gold accessories. I'd even say they lean toward gold more than silver. It's a comfortable heel height and fits tts. Note that the back does goes up a little bit high but I think it's actually a good thing for more support. BOUGHT.


Marc Fisher LTD Zurri Pointy Toe Loafer
Color: Nude Tumbled Leather

I've been really into business casual work wear lately and these are exactly that, a business casual loafer. Love Marc Fisher and these flats. I love the sleek pointed toe and they come in an assortment of 7 colors. BOUGHT.


 UGG Scuffette II Slipper
Color: Mariposa

There is nothing like a fresh pair of slippers and these new UGG ones are fabulous. I'm loving the bright color options and ended up purchasing the mariposa orangey color. These slippers are a game-changer- they are comfy, water-resistant and shearling lined. They only come in whole sizes so I recommend going 1/2 a size up. BOUGHT.


 UGG Priya Plush Sneaker Boot
Color: Chestnut Suede

I'm normally a huge fan of UGG boots but these don't have the shearling lining throughout the whole boot- only the on the trim so it's more like a regular boot (really cute though!) They are leather lined and are still comfortable but I'm a sucker for the full slipper shearling lining instead.


Dolce Vita Coltyn Genuine Calf Hair Bootie
Color: Tiger Print

I love all of the animal print that is trending so I had to try these on. They definitely look better on than off! Comfortable, fit tts and a good heel for all day wear. Surprisingly neutral looking even with the exotic print. This is an update on animal print and an easy way to try tiger. BOUGHT. 


Steve Madden Rockstar Genuine Calf Hair Bootie  (Leopard)

If tiger print makes you nervous this is a good alternative. This is a cute leopard boot that fits tts. This boot is my favorite leopard boot from the sale. 


Adidas Swift Run Sneaker

I always pick up some new sneakers at the sale and this year it is the Adidas. I love the white/grey and they also come in black! These are unisex so they run really big. I went down to a size 7 when I normally wear an 8.5. BOUGHT. 


Marc Fisher LTD Vega
Color: Coco Beige

This are the newer version of my favorite sandal from last year's sale. Marc Fisher is a great brand and the quality on these is fab. The stacked heel makes them really easy to walk in. Fit is really big so I sized down a full size. This is a great sandal for transitioning from Summer to Fall. BOUGHT.

These are my other favorite boot from the sale. I love how classy these neutral boots are.  I purchased my regular size and they fit well. Comes in black as well but I love this neutral/nude color. BOUGHT.

These are my second favorite boyfriend jeans from the sale. THESE are my favorite but I had to order online to get my size. These are a favorite, casual comfy and stylish. They are supposed to be baggier but you may want to size down for a better fit in case they stretch out. Love the wash on these.

These jeans are super wide and would look better with a taller shoe. I normally wear a size 26 but since these don't have any stretch I went up a size. There is a distressing on the knee and they will define your waist. Can't beat the price, but your husband will hate them. :)

I've actually never tried MOTHER jeans on before but once I did I immediately noticed how good and huggy they are. They fit a little small so I went with size 27. I love the step hem on these which are especially cool with heel. These might be my new favorite brand!

These are great and are similar to last year's version that sold out quickly.  I love the style and the price point! For a high-waisted jean theses are not mom jeans. They fit TTS and are a little bit cropped with a frayed hem.

These are the Rag & Bone dark skinny jeans that I tell everyone to get every year. They are the best dark skinny jeans. Soren always notices when I'm wearing them! They make you feel like a million bucks every time you put them on. What jeans do you own that have ever done that?? They do fit a little big so you could size down. These will not stretch out or fade- seriously. BOUGHT.

This year's AG version of light colored denim has no distressting, just a crop right at the ankle. These are my favorite light wash skinny from the sale. They are very flattering on. Fit is tts. BOUGHT.

These AG jeans have the darker wash and are a lot longer. I had to cuff them because they were so long. I'm wearing my normal size and they look a little more girlfriend-y fit. Still very cute.

I love the wash and fit of these jeans. They didn't have a size 26 in store so I went with the 25 and they are surprisngly comfortable and I kept the smaller size. I've had other Paige jeans stretch out before so I'm hoping by sizing down I avoid that. BOUGHT.

These were my favorite pair of Madewell jeans I tried on. I love the exposed buttons on the high waist, very flattering. They fit tts and are a great length. I'm impressed with these ones! BOUGHT.

There are several pairs of flares in the sale this year and this pair ended up being my favorite. They are extremely stretchy and have a high rise skinny flare fit. I'm wearing a size bigger and they still fit surprisingly great. I ended up buying my true size. You do need to wear a heel with them but a heeled boot works just fine. BOUGHT.



I always love a pair of black ripped skinnies. These have a great stretch and fit tts. They may stretch out a big, Paige jeans often do, but they won't fade. They will stay this black forever. 



Rag and Bone is one of my faves every year. THESE are the best black jeans in the sale. They are pricey, but you gotta try them on to believe them. These are black skinnies that do fit a little small so you could size up. I wouldn't want to squeeze into a smaller size. These will not stretch out or fade. BOUGHT.

These also fit really well. Love how easy the ankle is - it's not too skinny. These fit TTS and are another great black denim option to love. Fit is tts. I always try to stock up on black denim during the sale and I don't think you can go wrong with any of these 3 pairs.

PANTS & SKIRTS


These army green pants unfortunately weren't that flattering. They don't hug at all and fit big. There is no stretch but a really good price so if you go down a size they could work. I typically think Articles of Society jeans are just okay- and not even close to impressive when compared to the denim above. 


I'm actually really liking these orange/blush cord pants. I usually have to size up in high-waisted pants but not with these. Great to wear for a work outfit. Wishing I had bought them....


This skirt will sell out fast! There are a couple leopard skirts featured in the sale but this one is my favorite. It's a satin material and will look great with heels or sneakers. It looks like the front is pooching but it might be my shirt tucked in. 


This skirt has a great texture and will look great with so many sweaters for Fall. I love the color. They didn't have a size 2 in store so I tried on a 4 but I think it would be tts.

These black crop pants run big even wearing a size 0. I thought they would be a slimmer fit but they are more relaxed. They are a great price point for a dress pant if you don't want a super skinny leg.

I used to have a sweater similar to this but in another colorway. This is more like a green/gray color. It's a chunky, drop-shoulder sweater that's cute on. I'm wearing size small but think I could have worn an xs. 



These cute Free People blouses were fun to try on with these flare pants for that 70’s vibe. They would also look great with skinny jeans. I always try to get a floral top during the sale. This year’s free hobo color top comes in three colorways. This is size xs. Free people always runs a little big so size down. BOUGHT.

This is a great cardigan at a great price (only $31) that comes in several colors. Snag one or two before your size sells out! BOUGHT.


This year's Leith cardigan has longer slits on the side and is industrial length. I'm loving this green color! These also sell out quickly so pick a color and add to cart. BOUGHT.


This leopard cardigan almost has a tiny bit of a raised collar. It's soft, cozy, fuzzy and great for the Fall season. It will sell out quickly!


I'm so excited about this jacket. It's literally the perfect moto jacket. This is a 100% leather jacket. It's washed in and has a really great feel. It's not heavy and should zip up great! It has the look of my more expensive Madewell jacket, but it actaully feels even better. BOUGHT.


This year's big fur coat. Super cozy and fuzzy! It's under $120 and is definitely going to keep you warm!


If you have been on the hunt for a great trench, this one is perfect. The color, fit, all of it- classic.

This is basically the same blazer I bought last year that I wore a lot but updated in black and white checkered print. It's more of a boyfriend fit, definitely not fitted. I love the loose cut. BOUGHT.


This is such a cool blazer. It has a different collar than I usually wear but I like it. Love the fit and the colors. This one is a statement maker. BOUGHT.


As you can tell I've been really into blazers lately but this blazer is HUGE! There is an oversized chic element to it but it will probably get in my way. I passed on this one although I really loved the fabric. 


This is a classic double-breasted blazer that has a boyfriend fit and more of a maroon color. I have a similar one from last year so I passed, but it's a great option. 


I love the fit of the blazer but usually wear a size 00. I have it in a pink from last year, but don't think the yellow color suits me. It also comes in a blue, navy and black. Such a great fitting blazer. 


This is a super, super soft tee. I think the xs is a little too small so I would go with a small. Love the fabric and the color. Perfect basic tee. BOUGHT.

It's the perfect time to stock up on beauty supplies. These were all the ones that I BOUGHT.

Nars Hot Tropic Lip Gloss Set - NARS gloss is my go-to and these colors are gorgeous. They aren't super saturated and they aren't sticky. This is one makeup product that I would recommend to everyone.

Kiehl's Jumbo Creme de Corps Bottle with Pump - This is the time to stock up on the best lotion out there. This stuff is amazing.

MAC Up Close and Personal Eye and Face Kit - This palette is gorgeous in person. I'll show how I use it soon!

    The black and white leopard cardigan was sold out in most sizes (including mine) in less than an hour! Disappointing! Checking out now w/ a half dozen of your recommendations... thank you for the great info!
