Work Wear- Basics for the Office and Beyond

Happy fake-Friday! I'm all smiles over here about a three day workweek and all of the fun things we have planned for the weekend. We're staying in-town, but we'll be spending time with family, friends and doing all of the Summer activities we don't always get to do while Soren and I both work. I'm looking forward to time at the lake, barbeques with friends and a double date too. But to have all of that fun stress free, I did pack a lot of work into Monday through Wednesday this week and that meant recording a podcast (coming soon!), interviewing a few candidates, smelling scents for new N&S candles and styling today's business casual looks for you today. In today's post I'm working with Nordstrom to share two business casual looks with some great pieces that I think will work for most of the year and you can mix and match too!

SHOP THE POST

Lou & Grey Signaturesoft Split Neck Tee (wearing size xs) // 1901 4-Way Stretch Ankle Skinny Pants (wearing size 2) // Dolce Vita Renly Mule // Malibu Transparent Tote //
Ray-Ban Standard Original 58mm Aviator Sunglasses

This first look is pretty simple, but really classy and chic. This top is buttery soft and not sheer. It seems like it will wash up really well and I would say it fits big. I'm wearing an XS and it's still a loose fit. It also comes in three other colors and I would definitely consider getting the black one too! This top is a great basic and a cool take on an average tee.

I paired it with easy black dress pants that are a great price point. I love the cropped length and I'd say they fit TTS (or a smidge big) as well. I am wearing a size 2, but I may have been able to wear a 0 with a snug fit. They also come in other colors, but the black ended up being my favorite. I love adding a leopard mule for a pop of print and a little bit of dainty jewelry to finish off the look.

CeCe Pleat Sleeve Collared Crepe Blouse (wearing size xs) // 1901 4-Way Stretch Ankle Skinny Pants (wearing size 2) // Woven Loafer Mule // Ray-Ban Standard Original 58mm Aviator Sunglasses

This second look is a little more quirky, but I loved it! I was unsure of this top until I tried it on and then I was hooked! I got so many compliments on it and it really felt both authoritative but feminine too. It fit tts and is not sheer at all. I didn't need to wear an under tee and the fabric is a great black crepe. It will definitely wash up well!

These pants are the same as in the first outfit and they are so versatile. I love the length and the pull on waist. They are super comfy! I paired them with flat white mules but I think you could put so many different shoes with this outfit. You could add a pop of color to the outfit or do a heeled sandal for more great outfits.

I hope these work wear outfit ideas are helpful! They have been really fun to style and to wear as I find myself in more and more business casual situations, but the great thing is that many work wear pieces can be styled in different ways to date night or even casual looks too! Nordstrom has a great variety of blouses, closed-toed heels and slacks so expect to see me sharing more business casual pieces from there in the near future.

And speaking of the near future....one time to shop for some of those great work wear items is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The sale starts next Friday for those with a Nordstrom Card, but I'll be shopping it Tuesday so that I can share sneak peeks and get my favorites collected to share! If you don't have a Nordstrom Card, now is the time to sign up. You can get a $60 Nordstrom note (in-store credit) to shop just for signing up now and having a card will allow you to shop the sale a week before everyone else. I've got a post coming Friday with all of the sale details so stay tuned and get your card now!

Are you shopping the Anniversary Sale? Have you shopped it before?
This post was sponsored by Nordstrom. As always all styling and opinions are my own.
